New School Calendar Policy

A seemingly boring policy, the school calendar is a really big deal for many families. Each year, every School Committee Member, and surely many of the employees of the district receive inquiries about when school starts, when school ends, when are vacations, and when are holidays.

Beginning November of 2021, the school calendar for the following school year will be created and submitted for approval of the School Committee. We will know in November of 2021 the start date of school in the fall of 2022 and the end date of school in 2023!

Another enormous change to our calendar is the days we consider special enough to close school buildings - a day off. Many members of our community have not had the respect of their holidays that others have enjoyed for generations.

Medford is now a leader in respecting our community and the way they choose to worship.

You can see our new policy here.
